June 2024 · 2 minute read

Blackpink are fast becoming the biggest girl group in the world, and with their IN YOUR AREA world tour and appearance at Coachella, BLINKS have been wondering what else the fab four-piece have up their sleeves for 2019.

In a statement from YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk he explained what his goals and wishes for the BLACKPINK girls are for this upcoming year, givings fans hope and excitement for what may be heading our way very soon.

Firstly YG stated:

“The new songs that are set to be released in March will be their first EP album in nine months since last June’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU. If I were to remember my reaction to hearing BLACKPINK’s new songs by Teddy, I remember breathing a deep sigh of relief as they were songs that went above and beyond my expectations. I believe there will be much to be excited for.”

Another question that has been on BLINKS minds is when will the rest of the girls will be getting their solo debut after the success that came form Jennie’s Solo, last November. YG provided answers stating “Rosé’s solo song will most likely be released after BLACKPINK’s EP album. We have finished selecting a song that best fits Rosé’s vocals, and both Lisa and Jisoo are also working hard to prepare for solo tracks.”

Finally, his overall goals for the girls is a successful US debut, two comebacks and Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo to make their solo debuts (in that order.)

Fans have been sceptical of YG in the past after postponing the Square Up comeback and only receiving the As If Its Your Last single in 2017 but after their signing to UMG/Interscope in 2018, we can only hope that 2019 truly is BLACKPINKs year!
