Orlando Bloom's feud with Justin Bieber: Why do they hate each other?

June 2024 ยท 3 minute read

Two stars of song and the silver screen, there's not been any Christmas cards sent between Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber after their infamous restaurant brawl that was fuelled by cheating rumours.

Dubbed "history's most pathetic celebrity scuffle" by The Guardian, their fight nonetheless made headlines around the world and there remains bad blood between the pair to this day.

Bloom felt he was defending his honour against the pop prince after Bieber had attended a Victoria's Secret fashion show in 2012.

Backstage he reportedly got very cosy with model and Bloom's then-wife Miranda Kerr, and even tried to keep up that connection after the show, although Kerr shut him down.

Bloom split with Kerr in 2013 after having a son, Flynn, but remain on good terms - better than those of Bieber and his former flame Selena Gomez.

When and where did Orlando Bloom fight Justin Bieber?

But things came to a head both for Bloom's fist and overall tensions at a celebrity-packed Ibiza party in July 2014.

With Paris Hilton and P Diddy among those in attendance, Bieber seemingly blew up proceedings shouting "what's up b***h" at Bloom across the Cipriani restaurant.

Incensed, Bloom threw a sofa aside to reach Bieber who was already backing down, before throwing a punch at the then 20-year-old.

"Then security came - first, they have one quick (punch) then they separate," model Anastasia Skolkova told the Mirror.

"Then, when everyone thought that everything was quiet, they again tried to fight each other. They came, said the things, fought and then went away.

"I don't know why he came there, I think it was to provoke, there was no preparation for his table.

"If a place knows that that type of person is coming, they prepare more security. The security took him out clasping his hands behind his back."

The aftermath of Orlando Bloom vs Justin Bieber

After being quite literally beaten to the punch, Bieber took to social media trying to hit back at his rival.

He posted a bikini picture of Kerr followed by a photo of Bloom in tears, but, like the restaurant-goers, the public sided with the Brit.

"When Orlando punched Bieber, everyone started clapping," Skolkova added.

"The whole table Orlando and Leonardo DiCaprio were on were clapping."

To complicate matters further, in 2016 Bloom was pictured with Bieber's ex Gomez, with the pair pictured all over each other at a Las Vegas afterparty.

Things seemed to have calmed down since with both stars revitalising their careers but hopefully restaurants are staying on notice to prevent any further bust-ups.
