Marlon Vera hit Frankie Edgar so hard he was 'turned into Moe from The Simpsons' - but 'Chito' admit

Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera kicked Frankie Edgar in the face so hard during their fight, the UFC legend briefly resembled a character from The Simpsons.

However, despite one of the biggest wins of his career, at UFC 268, the Ecuadorian insists he will not be sharing the viral photo.

Vera knocked out the former lightweight champion with a front kick to the face, with photographer Louis Grasse of Sports Wire capturing the moment of impact.

Although it leaves the bantamweight contender with a highlight reel knockout and one of the biggest wins of his career, Vera has no intention of mocking Edgar

“It’s a f***** up picture,” Vera said on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. “I don’t post it. It’s f***** up.

“I put it like this: it’s him or me, right? It’s my family that I got to bring the bread home versus your family. It’s like ... I’m sorry, f*** you for that. I’m going to do everything to provide for my family, for my loved ones.

“And we’re fighting for that. A better future, for everything at our homes. But it’s a f***** up picture. I don’t post that picture. Everyone’s tagging me. I don’t even want to reply.

“The guy’s still got a family, still got a life,” Vera continued. “And that was Saturday night. So for me, how I see things, Saturday night was special, it will be in my heart forever.

“But I don’t live from that memory. Those three minutes of fame when you’re cool? A lot of people make that mistake and then they go downhill because they think they’ll be in that position forever.

“The fight’s gone. Monday comes, I’m back on the horse. My mind’s already thinking ahead: I’m going to fight somebody else, this fight doesn’t matter. I’m already thinking of what’s coming.

“And going back to the picture: it’s a f***** up picture. It’s almost like, if I posted it, it’s a little bit disrespectful.

“If that’s me at the other end of the rope and the other guy posts it, I don’t really care. I got a thick skin.

“I’d be like okay, I’m a loser, I got to get better, I got to figure it out. But I wouldn’t do it.”
